Artist Statement

My interests are in human emotions and relationships plus their interaction with constructed spaces and natural environments. I seek to understand how we react to spaces and transform them to meet our desires. My awe in the at once simple and complex structures of the mind and  physical environment are embodied in my work. My buddhist philosophy professor, Dr. John Clark, once said “In the midst of noise, how can we communicate?” Minimal materials and ideas are used to create mixed media installations, seeking to present the complexities of life in the simplest forms.
